So Standard Charted Marathon was held today and what made the headlines was that a 21 year old collapsed after completing the 1/2 marathon when he reached the finishing line.
AMM cant stress enough how important training and conditioning is when doing distance running. It is also equally important to know your own limits and how far you can push yourself.
For those intending to do distance running, please do condition your body through not just by running and clocking the distances but also strength training exercises. Do also remember that in that environment where there are so many people running side by side you’re andrenaline is pumped and may allow you to push yourself harder, that you need to learn how to pace yourself within your own limits and not push too hard.
