Every year, Google aggregates what people searched on Google (1.2 trillion searches) and releases the results. Practically a world in review of what has happened the past year. This year, Google has included data from other sources such as Google Trends and their own internal data tools.
Whitney Houston topped the list of the most searched showing why she is the most-loved diva of all. Followed by ‘Gangnam Style’ coming in second – not surprising as Psy has become a global phenomenon with the most watched YouTube video. The Hunger Games was the most searched movie which sees their social media efforts paying off that generated a huge buzz before the premier of the movie.
In Singapore, the London Olympics 2012 was the most searched, followed by Gangnam Style. And according to the zeitgeist, what are the top 3 most searched brands in Singapore? Louis Vuitton, Kate Spade and Longchamp!
Now, the Food & Drinks list is the most interesting with ‘rainbow cake’ taking top honours in this category. This is all the rage in Singapore throughout 2012!
