WWD has just reported that Alexis Mabille and Maison Martin Margeila has been awarded the official haute couture appellation by French fashion’s governing body, the Chambre Syndicale, earning them the rights to call their couture lines, haute couture.
Although Alexis Mabille and Maison Martin Margeila both has shown their collections alongside other Haute Couturiers during the Couture Fashion Weeks, both were participating in the capacity as guest member and correspondent member respectively.
AMM has had the great opportunity to have met Alexis Mabille in person while he was in Singapore during a certain fashion week that shall-not-be-named, and is very very happy for him! Alexis is such a great person, very bubbly and lively and so passionate about his creations.
“I am beside myself with excitement to receive full Haute Couture status,” Alexis Mabille said in a statement. “It recognises the work I do every day, both creatively and in terms of craftsmanship, in collaboration with my atelier and loyal clients.”
Both Alexis Mabille and Maison Martin Margeila will be showing their haute couture collections on Jan 21st and Jan 23rd respectively, alongside 12 other fashion houses that are allowed to use the haute couture appellation.
